MOFAD @ Pan African Festival 2019 in Macon, GA

With the generosity of the Knight Foundation, MOFAD is bringing a portion of our recently announced forthcoming exhibition African/American: Making the Nation’s Table, which will celebrate the black chefs, farmers, and entrepreneurs who have shaped American cuisine, as a part of the Pan African Festival 2019 at the Tubman Museum in Macon, GA.

On Saturday, April 27, MOFAD will present three conversations featuring chefs, cocktail historians, professors, farmers, and entrepreneurs to talk about the culinary legacy of African Americans. If you are in the area, please come say hi! Panels and panelists include (times forthcoming):

Learn about the history of black farmers in the United States, and the continuing cultural legacy of enslaved West Africans on the cuisine of South Carolina, Georgia, and beyond.
