In a city where 1 in 6 New Yorkers rely on food pantries each day and 1 in 4 face income poverty, MOFAD believes that every one of us deserves a Thanksgiving feast. This year, we are partnering with The Family Center to serve and welcome 42 of our neighbors in need to our dinner table, thanks to a generous donation from Fairway. A delicious Thanksgiving meal will be prepared by our in-house Exhibition Chef, John Hutt, and the families will be served by MOFAD staffers and volunteers.

About The Family Center
The Family Center strengthens families affected by crisis, illness, or loss to create a healthier and more secure present and future for their children and all family members. Improving child and family outcomes through programs that address the social determinants of health is the focus of The Family Center's work keeping vulnerable New Yorkers stronger, longer.
Since 1994, The Family Center has been providing expert social, legal, mental, and behavioral health services to New Yorkers and their families. Independent research has shown that, as a result, these New Yorkers receiving Family Center services have stronger immune systems, are less depressed, are hospitalized less frequently, and are able to better parent their children.
In 2016, The Family Center served 1,954 families, including 4,135 individuals, over 95% of whom live on incomes below the federal poverty threshold. The Family Center takes pride in offering hands-on support for New Yorkers' immediate needs, and then in helping them plan for a stable and sustainable future.
